Working with skilled graphic and UX designer, I was a the key UX designer of the largest design overhaul in Firefox history.
Called the Australis project, this redesign made Firefox more beautiful, sleek, and streamlined. The interface was modernized and simplified, creating consistent interaction models throughout the browser. It also created powerful customization options.
My work on what would become the Australis project began in 2009. I was the second UX designer to join Mozilla, and myself and the other designer completed a complete catalog of the improvements Firefox needed, from interaction to performance to polish. We worked to create a design framework, style guide, and multi-year plan for achieving a more beautiful and performant Firefox.
